2010: The Year of Change…

Welcome to 2010! A lot has happened here at ar/studios to promote the new year; for starters, the website has a brand-new look and feel and has been fined tuned to better suite the overall aspect of the goal of ar/studios – to promote my photography and eventual release of my digital 3D artwork  on this website.

For starters, when you first came to my website you were presented with the latest blog news. For someone new coming to the website, this did not present the best picture. Instead, now you will be greeted with what is called the Home page, which will present a description of what each area of the website contains. This will hopefully allow you to navigate to the section you are most interested in then being presented with a ton of overwhelming information.

Secondly, the Showcase, which currently only contains my photography will soon be completed with all previous years work of photography content and will be updated to include both previous and new artwork I have done, along with launching a new feature that will allow you to download my photography/artwork as desktop wallpapers in various resolutions.

Thirdly, after much consideration I have decided to take a permanent break with my application development work. This includes all previous release and planned future releases of my various applications. ResumeHelper 3, version 3.2.1 will be released (though incomplete from the planned feature list) as a working version. I will keep both v3.2 and v3.2.1 online so you can decide which version is best for your needs. Please look for version 3.2.1 of Resumehelper 3 in the coming days.

I have spent the last few years playing around with various programming languages and releasing ResumeHelper, Planetweight, Calendar, and Mynotes and feel it has taken away from my real passion of artwork and photography. You will still be able to download all of these applications under the update page; but, only ResumeHelper 3 will be available as a download on the software page.

So with these changes I am hoping for a BIG year here at ar/studios with several planned new content additions coming throughout the year. Now, I do know I have said this in the past; but, since I am officially graduated from school, I can finally spend my free time working on some of my hobbies! So, please stayed tune to ar/studios throughout 2010.

[End of Life] ResumeHelper 2

On December 1st, 2008, ResumeHelper 2x Series will have reached its end of life. All development and support will end. The only available option will be on the forums.

If you are still using ResumeHelper 2x, please upgrade to the latest version of ResumeHelper, version 3.1:

The first update to ResumeHelper 2.3 is now available. This updates fixes two known bugs and provides new enhancements to the outputted document when either Word or OpenOffice is selected.

The next major release of ResumeHelper 2 is here. This new version includes a number of changes and updates., including:

  1. Simplified user interface and prompts throughout the application for easier understanding.
  2. Application now uses less system memory when in use compared to 2.2 series or previous 2x versions.
  3. Overhaul of error detection system.
  4. Outputted document have been revised on all document formats.
  5. In House Cleaning

ResumeHelper 2 Version 2.3 RC1

The next major release of ResumeHelper 2 is almost here. The first Release Candidate has arrived. If no issues arise between Dec. 8th through the 15th, 2.3 will be declared Gold and will be released on the 15th 22nd of December.

ResumeHelper 2, v2.2.8 released!

The latest update to ResumeHelper 2 has been released. This update fixes more bugs that have been discovered since the last release, plus has been optimized further to allow better memory usage and performance gain. Yesterday though, version 2.2.7 was released, and today I discovered a new bug that was introduced with 2.2.7, and so version 2.2.8 has been released today to fix this new bug that popped up.

ResumeHelper 2 – v2.2.6 released

An update to ResumeHelper 2 has been released, fixing two known issues that were discovered since v2.2.5 was released. You can download the latest update here.

Change Log:

  • When Notepad is selected as the output document, the formatting is incorrect on several areas of the document.
  • When WordPad is choosen as the document format to use, and the file already exists, the error message was reporting resume_word.doc already exists rather then saying “File resume_wordpad.rtf already exists within the Resume_Documents folder.”

The latest release of Resumehelper 2 is here, bringing the version number to 2.2.5. This update fixes a bug with the main and secondary menu system.

ResumeHelper 2, v2.2.4 Released!

The latest update to ResumeHelper 2 has been released. This update fixes a number of issues dealing with the error detection system of the application when a user incorrectly inputs an incorrect number or letter throughout the program. Also, when Notepad is selected, the outputted document has been fixed for better results. Plus, there has been some in house cleaning as well as some more code optimizations done throughout the program.

I have finally found the root cause of the error detection bug that has plauged the program for over a month now, and I have issued a new nightly build that fixes the issue. Over the next four days I plan to perform quality assurance testing before releasing the final version. So hopefully, if all goes well, this Sunday, v2.2.4 final will be released!
